DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures for South Capitol Street Bridge and I-295 Projects

Temporary Lane Closures for South Capitol Street Bridge and I-295 Projects

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform construction activities along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

The following closures will be in place daily from Monday, December 28 until Thursday, December 31, 2020 weather permitting:

I-295 Northbound: Laboratory Road / US Naval Research Lab (Exit 1) to Suitland Parkway / JBAB (Exit 3A)

Single left or right lane closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 6:00pm to 5:00am from December 28^th to December 30^th
Left or right shoulder closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 9:00am to 4:00pm from December 29^th to December 30^th
Left or right shoulder closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 12:00pm to 4:00pm on December 28^th
Left or right shoulder closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 9:00am to 12:00pm on December 31^st
Single left or right lane closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 9:00am to 4:00am from December 29^th to December 30^th
Single left or right lane closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 12:00pm to 4:00am on December 28^th
Single left or right lane closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 12:00pm to 4:00am on December 31^st
Single left or right lane closure between Exits 1-3 starting at 9:00am to 12:00pm from December 24^th to December 24^th

These closures are required for pavement work, guardrail installation and equipment mobilization associated with multiple DDOT projects aimed at improving the I-295/DC 295 corridor.
