Highlights include:
- Since March 30, the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District, as of December 2, the District has supported 290,112 samples. The number of samples has increased by 40,468 since last reported on November 19.
- The week of November 30, the District was recognized for having the highest 7-day average per capita testing rate in the country. Also during that week the testing team was able to operationalize a new public testing site, begin collecting insurance and winterize several of the sites.
- On December 1, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) released their recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccine. The initial priority groups include healthcare workers and residents of Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCF). DC Health and the Health and Medical Branch continue to plan for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine in the District. (WASHINGTON, DC) –The District’s reported data for Thursday, December 3, 2020 includes 316 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 22,480.
The District reported that one additional resident lost their life due to COVID-19.
Tragically, 693 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
