Temporary Lane Closure of Suitland Parkway SE  on November 16 through November 21, 2020

 

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE on weeknights from Monday, November 16, 2020 through Saturday morning, November 21, 2020, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the following morning.

 

This closure will also continue on Saturday, November 21, from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather, additional construction needs, or other unforeseen delays work will continue through Sunday, November 22, 2020. A marked detour will be in place during these closures.

 

This closure is associated with the bridge reconstruction shown in the highlighted area in the below graphic.

 

These closures are necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange
