Temporary Lane Closures and Parking Restrictions on New York Avenue from 4th Street to 7th Street NW Starting November 9 through December 7, 2020

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close travel lanes on New York Avenue from 4th Street to 7th Street NW starting on Monday, November 9, 2020, weather permitting. At least one travel lane will be open to the traffic in each direction. Bicyclists should be prepared for a route disruption along New York Avenue NW.

Lane closures and restrictions are needed to resurface the roadway. The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work is scheduled to be completed by Monday, December 7, 2020, weather permitting.

Curbside parking will not be allowed on some blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue NW during construction. Parking restriction signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will not be allowed. The emergency “NO PARKING” signs will notify the hours of operation, dates, and duration of work and also the information of the Engineer in charge.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
