Temporary Closures of Suitland Parkway SE on November 2 through November 9, 2020
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE on weeknights from Monday, November 2, 2020 through Monday November 9, 2020, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the following morning.
This closure will also continue on Saturday, November 7, from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather, additional construction needs, or other unforeseen delays work will continue through Sunday, November 8, 2020. A marked detour will be in place during these closures.
This closure is associated with the bridge reconstruction shown in the highlighted area in the below graphic.
Suitland Parkway, SE Closure
These closures are necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange.
