(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close travel lanes and bike lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to 15th Street NW starting on Saturday, October 31, 2020, weather permitting. At least one travel lane will be open to the traffic in each direction. The bike lane will be closed. Bicyclists should follow the detour posted along the route.
Lane closures and restrictions are needed to resurface the roadway. The contractor is authorized to work Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Curbside parking will not be allowed on some blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue NW during construction. Parking restriction signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will not be allowed. The emergency “NO PARKING” signs will notify the hours of operation, dates, and duration of work and also the information of the Engineer in charge.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
