Temporary Lane Closures and Parking Restrictions on Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to 15th Street NW Starting October 19, 2020
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close travel lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to 15th Street NW starting on or about Monday, October 19, 2020, weather permitting. At least one lane will be open to the traffic in each direction.
Lane closures and restrictions are needed to resurface the roadway. The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Monday, November 9, 2020, weather permitting.
Curbside parking will not be allowed on some blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue NW during the construction working days. Parking restriction signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will not be allowed. The emergency “NO PARKING” signs will notify the hours of operation, dates, and duration of work and also the information of the Engineer in charge.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
