Temporary Full Closure of I-395 Northbound Ramp to Center Leg Freeway on September 29, 2020 through October 1, 2020

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the ramp from 7th Street SW to I-395 Northbound and I-695 Eastbound, and the ramp from I-395 Northbound to the Center Leg Freeway to perform construction activities along I-395 for future sign structure replacements from September 29th through October 1st, 2020. These closures and detours will take place overnight from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Due to the dynamic nature of construction projects, the start of these lane, ramp and shoulder closures may be delayed or postponed based on weather, field conditions, and/or other construction activities.

For the 7th Street ramp closure, vehicles will be detoured using 7th Street SW, Maine Avenue SW, M Street SW, South Capitol Street, and Washington Avenue SW as indicated in the map below. For the Center Leg Freeway ramp closure, vehicles will be detoured using I-695 Eastbound, 11th Street SW, and I-695 Westbound.  Notable delays should be expected around the project area and motorists are advised to use an alternative route, if possible.
