Highlights include:
- Starting the week of September 21, the District updated its Reopening Metrics. To learn more about these updated metrics, visit coronavirus.dc.gov/page/reopening-metrics.
- Walgreens pharmacists are now administering flu shots at Judiciary Square COVID-19 testing site, Monday through Friday, September 21 – October 2, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. No pre-registration required. Bring your government issued ID and insurance card.
- On September 16, the CDC released their “COVID-19 Vaccination Program Interim Playbook for Jurisdiction Operations Version 1.0.” This document serves as guidance on how to plan and operationalize a vaccination response to COVID-19. DC Health has recently established a group under the Health and Medical Branch which is working on planning for mass vaccination in the District.
- Since March 30, the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District, as of September 23, the District has supported 144,235 samples.
- Since March 30, DC Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) members have volunteered 34,568 hours to the District of Columbia’s COVID-19 response. The DC MRC has also added 4,931 volunteers to the group since this date. If you are interested in joining the MRC, please visit dchealth.dc.gov/mrc.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District’s reported data for Thursday, September 24, 2020 includes 57 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 15,163.
The District reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths.
- 71-year-old male
- 88-year-old female
Tragically, 623 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
