Temporary Lane Divide of Southbound DC-295 on October 1, 2020
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily divide the two right southbound lanes of DC-295 prior to Howard Rd., SE on or about October 1, 2020.
Drivers traveling to South Capitol St., SE, Nationals Park, and Suitland Parkway may use the right lane (EXIT ONLY lane) and continue to EXIT 4. All other drivers proceeding southbound to I-295 will continue in the left lane to bypass the work area, which also provides an alternate access to Exit 4 further downstream.
This closure is a result of the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.
