DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures on Suitland Parkway SE

Temporary Closures of Suitland Parkway, SE on August 17, 2020 through August 23, 2020

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE on weeknights from Monday, August 17, 2020 through Friday, August 21, 2020, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the following morning.

This closure will also continue on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen delays, the Saturday closure will occur on the Sunday, August 23, 2020 as an alternate day. A marked detour will be in place during these closures

This closure is associated with the bridge reconstruction shown in the highlighted area in the below graphic.

Suitland Parkway SE Closure

These closures are necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project, which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange.
