DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures on Suitland Parkway SE

Temporary Closures of Suitland Parkway, SE on July 20, 2020 through July 25, 2020

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close will temporarily close Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE during weeknights from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the following morning and Saturday from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm, from Monday, July 20, 2020 to Saturday, July 25, 2020 for bridge reconstruction, as shown in the below graphic. In the event of weather or other unforeseen delays, the Saturday closure will occur on the Sunday following the scheduled closure. A marked detour will be in place during these closures.

These closures are necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project, which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange.
