Temporary Closure of Eastbound Lanes of Potomac Avenue SE at South Capitol St. SE on July 22 to November 09, 2020

 

(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporary close the eastbound lanes of Potomac Avenue SE at South Capitol Street SE as shown in the below graphic. Access to east Potomac Avenue, SE will be made via northbound South Capitol Street SE, eastbound N Street, SE, southbound First Street SE., and then back to Potomac Avenue SE.  The temporary closure will occur on or about July 22, 2020 to November 09, 2020.

 

This closure is a result of the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange, and necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.

 

Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to stay alert and follow signage when traveling through this area as well as the surrounding construction areas.
