Bridge and Tunnel Inspection Schedule for Week of July 20 through July 24
(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:
Southbound I-395 Center Leg under Const. Ave., Penn Ave., Independence Ave., Wash. Ave., and Maryland Ave alternating right and left lane closures on Monday, July 20, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting
Southbound I-395 Center Leg under Const. Ave., Penn Ave., Independence Ave., Wash. Ave., and Maryland Ave left lane closure on Tuesday, July 21, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, weather permitting
Northbound I-395 Center Leg under Const. Ave., Penn Ave., Independence Ave., Wash. Ave., and Maryland Ave right lane closure on Tuesday, July 21, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting
Northbound I-395 Center Leg under Const. Ave., Penn Ave., Independence Ave., Wash. Ave., and Maryland Ave alternating right and left lane closures on Wednesday, July 22, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting
Eastbound and Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) from South Capitol Street, S.W., to Virginia Avenue, S.E., alternating right lane closures on Thursday, July 23, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting
Eastbound and Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) from Virginia Ave., S.E., to South Capitol Street, S.W., alternating right lane closures on Friday, July 24, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting
Kenilworth Avenue over Watts Branch and Burroughs Avenue right lane closure of Northbound Kenilworth Avenue, followed by partial lane closure of the north ramp from Kenilworth Avenue to Burroughs Avenue, followed by a left lane closure of northbound Kenilworth Avenue, followed by a left lane closure of southbound Kenilworth Avenue, followed by a right lane closure of southbound Kenilworth Avenue on Tuesday, July 21, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting.
Southeast Freeway (I-695) over 4th and 6th Street, S.E., alternating right and left lane closures of Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) followed by right ramp lane closure of Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) on Wednesday, July 22, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
