Asphalt Resurfacing of New Jersey Avenue NW between New York Avenue NW and N Street NW on July 13, 2020

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin asphalt resurfacing of New Jersey Avenue NW between New York Avenue NW and N Street NW on or about July 13, 2020, weather permitting.

DDOT advises motorists to expect lane closures and parking restrictions. This work is a part of the Safety Improvements on New Jersey Avenue NW project, and is expected to take one week to complete. Asphalt resurfacing will also take place on 3rd Street NW between M Street NW and N Street NW.

Traffic controls will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone safely. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures, and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.

Curbside parking may also be restricted while work is underway. Emergency No Parking signs will be posted a minimum of 72 hours before the start of construction. Sidewalk detours will also be in place while the work is in progress. Signage and protective barriers will be used to maintain public safety.
