(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform construction activities along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

The following closures will be in place daily from Monday, July 13 until Sunday, July 19, 2020, weather permitting:

●      Full ramp closure on I-295 northbound on-ramp from MLK Jr. Ave SE to I-295 northbound starting from 11:00pm on July 13th to 6:00am July 19th

●      Road closure on South Capitol Street, SE northbound and southbound from MLK Jr. Ave. to Malcolm X Ave SE starting from 9:00pm on July 13th to 11:00am July 19th

Traffic will be detoured from South Capitol Street SE to MLK Jr. Ave SE and Malcolm X Ave SE. There will be various messaging boards at the location of these closures to direct traffic through the corridor.

These closures are required for pavement work, guardrail installation and equipment mobilization associated with multiple DDOT projects aimed at improving the I-295/DC 295 corridor.
