Temporary Closure of Northbound I-395 Between Exit 10 and New York Avenue NW on Friday, June 26th Through Saturday, June 27th

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement a temporary closure of northbound Interstate 395 between Exit 10 (Massachusetts Avenue NW/2nd Street NW) and New York Avenue NW from 9:30 a.m. on Friday June 26, 2020 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday June 27, 2020, weather dependent. A marked detour will be in place during the closure.

This work is necessary for construction activities associated with the Safety Improvements on New Jersey Avenue NW project which includes the reconstruction of New York Avenue NW between First Street NW and Fourth Street NW.  The northbound I-395 traffic will be detoured at Exit 10 (Massachusetts Avenue NW/2nd Street NW) to follow 2nd Street NW north to New York Avenue NW, as exhibited in the graphic below.

DDOT will provide variable message boards to alert the traveling public to these closures. Detour signs will also be prevalent along the closure route to guide motorists safely around the closure. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures, and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
