Bridge and Tunnel Inspection Schedule for the Week of May 30

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes/or shoulders on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections, weather permitting:

 

Monroe Street, NE, over CSX and WMATA Railroad Lines right shoulder closure of westbound Monroe Street NE, followed by a right shoulder closure of eastbound Monroe Street NE, on Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

 

Westbound and eastbound E Street Expressway under Virginia Ave., and 23rd Street alternating right and left lane closures on Sunday, May 31, from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am and Monday June 1 from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am

 

Scott Circle Tunnel Underpass 16th St northbound and southbound closure on Tuesday June 2, from 8:00 pm to 4:30am

 

Thomas Circle Tunnel Underpass Massachusetts Ave NW eastbound and westbound closure on Wednesday June 3, from 8:00 pm to 4:30am

 

Westbound and eastbound Virginia Avenue Tunnel under 23rd Street closure alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures on Thursday, June 4, from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am

 

Eastbound K St Tunnel under Washington Circle alternating right and left lane closures on Thursday, June 4, from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am

 

12th Street SW under I-395 Ramps alternating left and right lane closures of northbound 12th Street SW, followed by alternating left and right  lane closures of southbound 12th Street SW, on Tuesday, June 2, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate lite-to-moderate delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
