Temporary Closures on I-295 Southbound from June 12 through June 22

 

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close single lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform construction activities along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

 

The following closures will be in place daily from Friday, June 12 until Monday, June 22, 2020, weather permitting: 

 

I-295 Southbound: Laboratory Road/Us Naval Research Lab (Exit 1) to Malcolm X Avenue/South Capitol Street/JBAB (Exit 2)

  • Full road closure between Exits 1-2 from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am during June 12 through June 15, 2020
  • Full road closure between Exits 1-2 from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am during June 19 through June 22, 2020

 

The closures and restrictions are needed for guide rail installation and equipment mobilization associated with multiple DDOT projects aimed at improving the I-295/DC 295 corridor. Traffic control devices will be in place. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and be observant of the work zone.
