Bridge and Tunnel Inspection Schedule for the Week of May 18

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

 

  • 14th Street SW between the 14th Street Bridge and C-Street SW traffic lane and shoulder closures beginning May 17, 2020 through May 28, 2020 from 10:00pm and 5:00am nightly, weather permitting. Motorists should anticipate low-to-moderate delays due to the lane closures; they are required to allow our team to do an inspection of the structures associated with the 14th Street bridge down to C Street SW; to confirm and identify any areas of corrosion.
  • Southbound 9th Street Expressway under Independence Avenue, S.W., Jefferson Drive, S.W., The Mall, and Madison Drive, N.W. alternating right and left lane closures on Tuesday, May 19, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  
  • S.E./S.W. Freeway Ramps E and F over Pedestrian Underpass ramp narrow closures of Eastbound Ramps E and F on Thursday, May 21, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
