"Equity Imperative and Environmental Justice"

On this 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, many people are looking to understand how they can reduce their consumption, recycle more, support biodiversity, minimize climate change and other efforts to improve the health of our Earth. These are important issues to tackle, but it is even more exciting to discover cities and organizations that are taking additional steps to address environmental and social justice.

Solar For All is Mayor Muriel Bowser's initiative to provide 100,000 low-to-moderate income families with the benefits of locally generated clean energy. This documentary celebrates the successes and documents the challenges of the first two years of implementing one of the most progressive solar mandates in the United States. WATCH this 2020 DC Environmental Film Festival Selection, which exhibits how Mayor Bowser and the District are using innovation and equal access to local, clean energy to slash residents' utility burdens and protect underserved communities in the face of the changing climate.

Blue Drop, LLC Call for Artists

Blue Drop, LLC, is seeking to obtain paid services of a professional illustrator for a children’s book about the wastewater treatment process. Blue Drop LLC is a nonprofit (501c(3)) organization whose mission is to benefit DC Water and its ratepayers by creating innovative sources of revenue for the Authority.

2020 Community Stormwater Solutions (CSS) Grant Funding

The Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program is now accepting applications for its 2020 grant year. This year, DOEE partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Trust to administer the program’s Request for Applications. Sign up to receive information on the program, including upcoming pre-application information sessions.
