HSEMA Activates for 2020 State of the Union Address

SOTUA Activation 2015

Happy Super Monday! It's a busy and exciting week for us here in the nation's capital. The District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) will activate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) tomorrow, February 4, to support the State of the Union Address (SOTUA). Federal, state, and local partners will gather in the EOC, located at HSEMA, to support this activation.

So, what does an EOC activation really mean? Well, HSEMA Director Christopher Rodriguez met with Kim Kadesch, Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Office of the National Capital Region Coordination (ONCRC), to explain just that. Tune in to this week's episode of HSEMA Off the Record to learn more about what an EOC activation looks like and how the partnership between HSEMA and FEMA's ONCRC better prepares us for events such as the 2020 State of the Union Address.
