WELCOME TO 2020!
In the New Year, we get to look back at some of MOVA achievements over the past 12 months.

- Enrolled 464 DC veterans into the MOVA Capital BikeShare and Pathway to Work programs.
- Served 2,215 DC veterans and their family members through 20 DC Veteran Vocational Rehabilitation Sessions, 8 DC Veteran Roundtables, 7 Small Business Workshops, 3 Legal Clinics, DCHiresVets 2019, and MOVA's first annual Women Veterans Day & Resource Fair.
MOVA's District Veteran Service Officer and US Army veteran - Mr. Robert C. Pearson Jr. was selected as a HillVets 100 of 2019 awardee! Thousands of veterans, veteran family members and veteran caregivers are nominated every year for the HillVets 100. MOVA is proud to have one of it's own recognized.
Robert was selected, along with six other outstanding individuals, in the Government-Career Employee category. This category honors individuals who work tirelessly, often without recognition or reward, to serve the public good. In 2020, the challenge for all of us – at DC Government and for community leaders and residents across the District – is to continue building a DC that is inclusive and diverse, a DC filled with opportunity. We have a lot to be proud of, but also a lot left to accomplish. We have housing to build, jobs to create, an environment to protect – and none of it can wait. I’m fortunate to have a strong team at my side, ready to tackle these issues with a sense of urgency, and to lead a community always ready and willing to get involved and support their neighbors.
We will continue the conversation on how we reach our goal of building 36,000 new homes by 2025 at our annual Budget Engagement Forums coming up in February. At this year's forums, we will focus on how we can work together as a community to build the types of housing our families and residents need in neighborhoods across DC. Learn more about the Budget Engagement Forums, including the Senior Telephone Town Hall, and RSVP HERE.
Together, let's create citywide solutions that reflect our DC values.

Veterans have an incidence rate for prostate cancer that is approximately twice that of the general population. ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer (ZERO) and Veterans Prostate Cancer Awareness (VPCa) are united in the effort to bring the Veterans community the resources, tools, and education needed to fight and prevent the disease, since 1 in 5 Veterans will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime.
Your feedback via this survey is critical to help us provide the most impactful programs to save lives from prostate cancer and stop pain and suffering. ZERO and VPCa will use this information to help make future decisions on how best to meet the educational and awareness needs of the nearly 500,000 prostate cancer patients who are also Veterans.
