Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent serves as the Risk Management Coordinator and is responsible for providing technical risk management leadership to the Department in the identification and response to risk exposures, appropriate loss control measures and administrative guidance in the review and evaluation of risk management issues.

Qualifications and Education

Qualifications and Education

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or other related field (with concentration in finance, accounting, investments, or economics). A Masters’ degree in a related field or an MBA is also desirable.

Qualifications and Education

Duties and Responsibilities

Plans and conducts periodic investigations and inspections of ABC establishments in order to effectively administer and enforce the District of Columbia beverage alcohol laws, and other laws, as required.  These investigations and inspections may be conducted during the day or night. Write clear, concise, descriptive, and objective reports that substantiate findings, conclusions, and actions taken or recommended.

Qualifications of an Ideal Candidate

Knowledge and understanding of Title 25 of the DC Code, Title 23 of the DC Municipal Regulations, various court decisions, ABC Board directives and Orders, other relevant DC laws and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of investigation procedures, requirements and statutes.
