Beginning October 1, 2019, students will no longer be able to use their School Year 2018-2019 Kids Ride Free SmarTrip cards to access public transportation. Students who use Metrorail, Metrobus, or the DC Circulator will need to obtain a new SY 2019-2020 Kids Ride Free SmarTrip card.
This summer, card distribution events will be held around the District to allow students the opportunity to register and obtain their new Kids Ride Free SmarTrip card before the new school year begins.
