Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

It's that time of year again: the new year is just a few weeks away, and now it's time to register for the Fit DC Fresh Start 5K Run/Walk. This annual event is my favorite way to kick off the new year - with hundreds of Washingtonians from across all eight wards, cheering each other on and having fun.

Each year, we pick a new location for the 5K. Almost one year ago, we kicked off the Year of the Anacostia with a 5K at Anacostia Park. This year, for our fifth New Year's Day 5K, we'll be right across the river in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.

The best part of the Fresh Start 5K? It's fun, relaxed, and a great way to get a happy, healthy start to 2019. Register today and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

See you there, DC.

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowser
