Dear Washingtonians,
Small Business Saturday may be behind us, but, with the holiday season in full swing, we still have plenty of opportunities to continue supporting our small and local businesses. Small and local businesses are the backbone of our economy—they hire local, spend local, and keep our business corridors thriving.
The District's small and local businesses are not just places to shop, they are neighborhood amenities. Our local restaurants and shops add to the vibrancy of our community and create spaces for residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy the culture of Washington, DC. From bookstores and coffee shops to game stores and music venues, just like our city, our local businesses offer something for everyone.
Over these past four years, my Administration has been proud to support small and local businesses through our Small Business Opportunity Guide (also known as the Green Book), the Great Streets program, and through the Made in DC program. Because we know—when our small and local businesses thrive, our community thrives.
Sincerely,
ICYMI: Looking for a local holiday market? Check out this list that our Department of Small and Local Business Development put together.
