DDOT Suspends Work for Columbus Day

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces a suspension of work in observance of Columbus Day from noon Friday, October 5, 2018, through Monday, October 8, 2018.

Lane closures will not be allowed for non-emergency work in roadways, alleys and sidewalks within the District’s right of way. This includes manhole access and construction-related deliveries. Approved activities may resume Tuesday, October 9, 2018, during permitted work hours.

DDOT will lift rush-hour reversible lanes for Columbus Day on Monday, October 8.

Holiday Parking Enforcement

In observance of Columbus Day, parking regulations—including expired meters and residential parking—will be suspended with one exception.

DC Streetcar parking enforcement occurs daily, including weekends and holidays along the DC Streetcar line on H Street/Benning Road, NE, between 3rd Street and Oklahoma Avenue, NE.

On Sundays and holidays, enforcement occurs between 8 am and 11 pm. Monday to Thursday enforcement is from 6 am to midnight; and on Fridays and Saturdays, enforcement runs between 6 am and 2 am. Normal enforcement citywide resumes Tuesday, October 9.
