The Mayor’s Office on Veterans Affairs ("MOVA") is launching a pilot transportation program for District of Columbia veterans with the Department of For-Hire Vehicles. Program eligibility is restricted to veteran residents of Washington DC with an annual income of less than $30,000. Documentation evidencing eligibility may be requested by MOVA. The purpose of this program is to ensure that this population has access to the medical, educational, employment and other opportunities that they require.
Program participants may only use Program rides for the following:

Employment opportunities: limited to job interviews, job fairs, recruitment events, and other similar opportunities, and does not include commuting to and from work

Educational opportunities: limited to college courses, college prep courses, GED courses, apprenticeship programs, and other professional licensure courses
-
Medical treatment and/or similar appointments
To register for VetsRide, a veteran must sign-up in person at the Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs. Ensure you bring proof of DC residency, DD-214, NGB-22, or VA Card, and a statement of your annual income. All veterans must also have a current DCNetwork account, which can be created or updated at the Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs.

Bertie Backus was revered for her work in character development and was appointed by President Roosevelt to direct a ground-breaking youth education program in 1933. This 9/11 we'll honor her and the school who shares her legacy by turning their garden into a flourishing oasis.

developing a nationwide agenda for addressing the needs of all women. The

MOVA has partnered with The Department of Insurance, Securities & Banking (DISB) to present a Financial Services Clinic for the Veteran Community.

Start-Up is a nine week program where veterans and their spouses can test their
ideas, accelerate and build their businesses with expert thought leaders,
mentors, and professionals. This program culminates with a pitch competition
and a cash prize.
We invite you to participate in the 2018 Veterans’ Legal Career Fair! This year, we are excited to share with you our NEW Location, NEW Format and NEW Online Resources we have added to this unique ONE DAY event!

Once again, we will match employers seeking to hire exceptional, experienced legal professionals with lawyers who have served in the U.S. military, are transitioning out of military service, or are military spouses. Our goal is to help first-rate candidates who have received unique training, skills and legal insights through their military service connect with top employers.
In addition to attending and interviewing at the Veterans’ Legal Career Fair, you will be able to search within the veteran legal community year-round with our VLCF Online Job Board. Veterans, active military and military spouses will now be able to access participating employers active positions posted throughout the year and connect directly.
Over the past three years, over 150 candidates and over 40 employers have participated every year. This event cannot be a success without your help. Please spread the word about this unique opportunity to your fellow military colleagues, friends, and military spouses with legal backgrounds. There is time for them to register!
We have a number of employers registered and continue to do so. We will alert you to new registrants, so look out for announcements and check back frequently to see who will be attending and bid on them for interview slots. This program is separate and apart from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' vocational rehabilitation program. If you have been denied or are currently using the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' program, you may still be eligible for District assistance. Come speak with one of our counselors!

Brewmaster Job Description
We are
searching for driven and creative individuals who have a passion for creating
the best beers. Whether you’re putting a fresh spin on existing recipes or
crafting the perfect seasonal or specialty brew, you understand that quality
comes first. The Brewmaster’s responsibilities include cleaning tanks and other
equipment used in the brewing process, selecting ingredients, crafting recipes,
and testing the product. Brewmasters will also need to be able to manage team
members, build rapport with suppliers, keep accurate records, and complete
necessary paperwork.
To be
successful, Brewmasters must be communicative, passionate, thorough, and
creative. Brewmasters must have extensive knowledge about brewing processes and
always put quality and safety first.
Brewmaster Responsibilities:
- Improving and creating unique beer recipes.
- Selecting quality ingredients.
- Cleaning equipment.
- Testing beer and making corrections to
processes or ingredients to improve taste.
- Managing people and resources effectively.

*As a Bartender, you ensure consistent drink
