Mission:
The Mayor's Office
on Returning Citizen Affairs (MORCA) is dedicated to providing information,
support, advocacy and connection to services for all of the District's
returning citizens. MORCA's goal is to empower returning citizens to realize
their full potential- as individuals, as family members, and as residents of
the community. Our doors are always open for people who need a little extra
help to get back on their feet.
The Mayor's Office
on Returning Citizen Affairs (MORCA) provides critical information and support
for the empowerment of previously incarcerated persons. MORCA offers connection

March in DC - March for Our Lives
March for Our Lives was a student-led demonstration in support of tighter gun control that took place on March 24, 2018, in Washington, D.C., with over 800 sibling events throughout the United States and around the world.

MORCA Reentry Case Manager Round Table
On Wednesday, March 28, 2018. The Mayor's Office on Returning Citizen Affairs presented their First Reentry Round Table discussion. The goal for the event was to develop collaboration with Reentry Case Managers in the community to enhance the lives of the District's returning citizen population.

Weekly Support Group
The Mayor's Office on Returning Citizen Affairs in partnership
with the Hope Foundation hosts weekly reentry support groups to provide
returning citizens with a space where individuals can come together to share
their stories, experiences, and lives in a way that helps reduce isolation and
loneliness.

FY19 Budget Oversight Hearing
On Thursday, March 29, 2018. The DC Council for The Committee on Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization held a Budget Oversight Hearing for FY19.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, MORCA hosted one of its monthly family reunification trips to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The trip was to Federal Correctional Institution - Fort Dix located in Fort Dix, NJ. The purpose of the trip is for family members and friends of incarcerated District residents to bridge the gap and connect with their loved ones.
Family Reunification Trip - FCI Cumberland
On Saturday, April 14, 2018, MORCA will be hosting one of its
monthly family reunification trips to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This trip
will travel to Federal Correctional Institution - Cumberland in Cumberland, MD. The
purpose of the trip is for family members and friends of incarcerated District
residents to bridge the gap and connect with their loved ones.
