Public Can Get Update on Plans for 16 New Affordable Townhomes
The DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is holding a January 4, 2018, public hearing on a property sale that will transform a vacant lot into affordable housing in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Ward 8.
The vacant lot at 3401 13th Street SE (Square 5936 Lot 0802) was in a round of Solicitation for Offers issued by DHCD on June 22, 2016. The property was awarded to Flywheel Development LLC through a competitive selection process. The developer plans to construct 16 affordable townhomes that will consume Zero Net Energy, and meet the Passive Housing and Living Building Challenge Petal standards.
The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 4, 2018, 6 p.m. at the DHCD First Floor Conference Room, 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20020.
The hearing will ensure that citizens are informed about the property sale and have the chance to publicly present their views.
