Neighbor Up Park View Campaign Launches

The New Communities Initiative (NCI) team has been busy hosting community events intended to spark conversations about the community and planned development activities. The NCI team is committed to building a network of community members, Park Morton residents, and neighbors that are focused on ensuring the planned redevelopment benefits everyone. In addition to several Pop-Ups, Tea Talks and neighborhood walks this summer, residents and partners came together last month for the first “Neighbor Up Park View" campaign meeting. Participants engaged in community building activities and strategized together on ways to spark and sustain a neighborhood network committed to resident success. Through conversations with residents in the Park View community, the team is looking to get responses to the question "What does it mean to belong here?" in an attempt to truly understand residents' view of what it means to belong to the Park View community. Since this first meeting, the team has hosted a series of 'Working Sessions' to figure out how to best accomplish this goal. You can join the effort by attending one of our upcoming "Campaign Working Sessions" and the upcoming "Network Night" in which neighbors will come together in a space where residents can meet, discuss what is important to them and the neighborhood, and begin to form a more cohesive and inclusive community.
