First Meeting Tuesday, August 22nd
Thank you to everyone who applied for our task force! Last week, we proudly announced the 29 members selected to provide recommendations to the State Board. Through our open and transparent process, the call for participants attracted parents, community leaders, education agency leaders, students, teachers, school leaders, and nonprofit personnel eager to make their voice heard on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Over the course of the next two years, four subcommittees will address school report cards, an access and opportunity measure, a high school growth measure, and school climate pilots. The team is excited to get to work. The first task force meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Meetings will continue on a monthly basis for the duration of the members’ two-year commitment.
