Relocation Activities Continue at Barry Farm
Housing Opportunities Unlimited (HOU) is continuing to work with Barry Farm residents to help guide them through the process of relocating. Counseling services are being provided to help identify housing needs such as family size, neighborhood preferences, health concerns, and more. HOU is located at 1116 Eaton Road SE, and can be reached at 202-599-1447 for questions or more information.
Ward 8 Works Continues
Ward 8 Works is a partnership between NCI and more than 30 public and private partners designed to connect Ward 8 residents to construction jobs. Ward 8 Works hosted its second event on August 11, 2017 for the almost 200 Ward 8 residents who are working to become job-ready for upcoming construction jobs on Ward 8 development projects. Second Design Workshop To Be Held on August 16th
In response to the sentiments expressed during the Barry Farm resident meeting held in June, developers and architects are holding a follow-up meeting on Wednesday, August 16th at the Barry Farm Recreation Center. Grimm + Parker architects will walk through the Phase One buildings -- senior apartments, multi-family apartments, and townhomes -- to show residents how their suggestions have been incorporated into design and floorplans.
