2017 DC Council Performance Hearing
On February 24, 2017, Director Sheila Alexander-Reid appeared before the DC Council Committee on Government Operations. Director Reid was joined by advocates Abdur Rahim Briggs (Project Briggs/Mayor's Advisory Committee on LGBTQ Affairs), David Perez (LULAC/Mayor's Advisory Committee on LGBTQ Affairs, Ruby Corado (Casa Ruby), Imani Woody (Mary's House), George Kerr (G III Associates) and Jason Laney (SMYAL).

DC Is Finalist for Gay Games 2022
We are pleased to report that D.C. has been named a finalist to host the Gay Games in 2022. The bid has received Mayor Bowser's full support from the start.
“We’re looking forward to showing the world how proud we are of our inclusive and diverse city,” Bowser told the Washington Blade.
