NextGen 2017

Join GovLoop and NextGen on May 11th to learn how to make your point using data! Data can make or break an argument. Instead of simply voicing an opinion, it’s important to use data to back up your point. The first step is however, overcoming any intimidation or fear you might have about working with data.

The Alamo Young Government Leaders have selected Dr. Golareh Agha as their 2021 Young Public Servant of the Year. Dr. Agha graduated with a PhD in Epidemiology from Brown University, and further completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Agha currently serves as Chief of Informatics at San Antonio’s Metro Health Department, where she drives the mission of putting data and evidenced-based research into action within public health. She leads a team of advanced Epidemiologists and Data Scientists under the department’s first Informatics Team, and has been responsible for leading San Antonio’s COVID-19 Response Effort Data and Analytics unit throughout 2020. Through both her research and public health work, Dr. Agha is dedicated to addressing social and racial/ethnic determinants of health and mitigating risk for chronic disease in the population. We congratulate her on receiving this year's recognition and thank her for her service to our community.
