2017 Colorado Leadership Foundations Program

Registration for the CLFP Class of 2017, which will commence in September 2016, has just opened.  To register please fill out the Class of 2017 Registration Form (it is available in MS Word format). Anyone who believes they would benefit from the program is welcome to sign up.

The inaugural CLFP Class of 2016 was very well received by participants. All forty-five (45) participants from Track 1 and Track 2 completed program evaluations on graduation day in early March. In response to the question: “Please rate the extent to which you would recommend the CLFP to others” with “Very Great Extent” being 5 on a five-point scale, 4.9 was the average rating. Based on this and other highly favorable evaluation ratings and comments it appears that they exceeded their own high expectations for this new program. They expect the next program will be even better.

VOCALIZATION: Moderate-trained to respond to a bark collar

Great with kids, cats, and dogs!

Sissy is my name. My mom became very ill and passed away. That's how I came to Colorado to be with the Fairy Dawg Mother. I'm an older dog, but often feel like a youngster.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE squeaky dog toys. My foster parents have a basket full of dog toys that I enjoy emptying out in order to find the perfect one. My favorite thing to do is romp around and toss it in the air.

I am a fast learner and quickly learned how to use the dog door at my fosters home. I get along fabulously with other dogs, cats and young kids. In my down time I enjoy sleeping on the couch or bed, especially the seat under the window. I am shy at first and a little hesitant, but just give me a little time and I'll warm up.

I am completely potty trained and walk well on a leash. I know a couple of simple commands too! I would like to live in a home with a nice family that has a nice fenced yard. I would like room to run and play with the kids that live there. The kids will be very gentle and kind. No one will ever hit me or yell. A canine brother or sister would be great and maybe a kitty too! No ferrets or guinea pigs though-they remind me of squeaky toys.

Sissy's adoption fee includes all vaccinations and lifetime enrollment on her microchip. She is currently being fostered in Littleton, Colorado.

Community Events

Urban Peak

Urban Peak is a homeless shelter for teens. They are required to go to school or have a job. It’s not just a place to sack out, as some would think. We are looking for more volunteers to help provide and serve food the 3rd Wednesday of the month. There are a group of federal employees that get there around 5 and 6 and are usually done by 7. There is no dishwashing or cleanup involved. The teens take care of that. They are always so appreciative of what the volunteers do. It’s a wonderful way to feel like you are making a difference in a young persons life.

The group volunteers at the S. Bannock location. If you are interested in helping please contact Michael Nestlehut Michael.Nestlehut@onrr.gov.
