What are the Community Cornerstones Awards?

Each month, Councilmember Anita Bonds highlights cornerstones of our community who make an extraordinary impact to the quality of life and general well being of the residents of the District of Columbia.

This month's recipients

Fred is a member of the Graphics Commerce Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Fred serves as the senior officer on the board of the Metro Washington Labor Council and the Chair of its Political Education Committee. Fred has been awarded by his colleagues the JC Turner Award for Outstanding Trade Unionists for his work here in the District.

Fred is deeply engaged in local political campaigns and has served for over a decade as a member of the DC Democratic State Committee.

Thank you Fred for your life long commitment to working families in the District of Columbia.

Ruby

Thank you Ruby for fighting to make the District a more inclusive place.
