They say, one of the best ways to grab a reader’s attention is to include photos of babies or animals so we decided to hop on that trend. And now that you’re here reading this, we have to be honest. This article doesn’t have to do with either babies or animals, but it does have to do with you.
Recently, Weld County’s Public Information Office celebrated its 50th issue of the County Roots newsletter. And because we know you don’t get to 50 issues about government news without residents supporting it, we want to thank you and every other person who has subscribed to County Roots. In fact, almost 3,700 of you have signed up to receive this newsletter in your inbox every other week.
From the beginning, we, as a communications team, tasked ourselves with using this format to answer two questions: what does county government do, and why should taxpayers care? We know government business and processes aren’t necessarily top of mind for residents day-in and day-out, which is why we’ve worked hard to develop content that showcases interesting (and short) articles to highlight things we think are worth bringing to the public’s attention. And because our subscriber numbers continue to rise, we believe you, the readers, think it’s worth it too.
So, as we look ahead to 2022, we want to ask you for a favor – just a few minutes of your time to take a quick survey (just a few simple questions). Are we hitting the mark? What questions do you have about county government? What topics would you like to see addressed in future issues? Your input will help us plan future content. After all, there’s no better way to answer the question “Why should taxpayers care” than by asking taxpayers (and all residents), what they care about.
Thanks in advance for your time, for your feedback, and for engaging with county government!
