Genesis Project

Genesis Project Enjoys “Keys to Success”

The Genesis Project of Northern Colorado held their 14th Annual Fall Banquet on October 2nd with approximately 140 guests, to include many long-standing supporters and 50+ new ones!  This year’s theme, “Keys to Success” shined through the night as guests shared dinner, dessert, basket give-a-ways, a live auction and an amazing video of the women we serve.  “The number one Key to our success is undeniably people,” shares Ashley Colgate, Executive Director.  “People who pray, serve, and financially give allow God’s mission to succeed. We were blessed with over $17,000 in proceeds after all event expenses were paid!”

The purpose of The Genesis Project is to empower women to live in complete healing through faith in Christ, strengthen their families, and cultivate an expectation of success in life.  The program expanded this year to offer six privately furnished apartments for single mothers and their children.

The Genesis Project, a 501-C3 faith-based residential program, requires just under $100,000 to operate annually, relying heavily on volunteers and non-profit discounts to keep expenses low.  “As we move into the Christmas Season and New Year, we pray for continued blessings, and that God would grant us wisdom to faithfully steward the resources He provides,” says Ashley.  To help support the Genesis Project mission or for more information visit https://www.genesisprojectnoco.org.

 
Foster Care

Weld County Foster Care Offers Guidance and Resources for Families

The strength of a community is shown through the way that community meets the needs of children and youth. Weld County’s Child Welfare Division needs new foster families, especially for families who can foster older children and teens, sibling groups greater than two, and those with special needs. Foster families provide a unique and vital service for children who have been temporarily removed from their home due to safety concerns. Foster families help to minimize disruption for children and youth while their parent(s) work on a treatment plan to help them move forward with success. When you partner with Weld County, you become part of a network of people committed to you and your family’s success in fostering. Our team offers constant guidance and resources to help you provide the support our children in foster care need to grow, hope and thrive. Youth Development Initiative

Youth Development Initiative asking for resources

As the Youth Development Initiative continues to support programs which help connect Weld County’s youth with resources for development, we are looking to enhance the communication pipeline with information and collaboration. The objective is to create awareness for the following youth resources:

  • Mental Health
  • Education
  • Family Planning
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Life Survival Skills

The Youth Development initiative is reaching out to all churches in Weld County, youth-related nonprofits, school districts and private schools to create resource connection. If you would like to help in any fashion, contact Phil Lukens at philiplukens@gmail.com.
