On this date 140 years ago, Colorado became the 38th
state thanks to President Ulysses S. Grant
signing Proclamation 230. There’s no doubt we live in the most beautiful state
in the Union and that goes from our gorgeous
mountains to our stunning plains! Happy birthday Colorado!
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
This month, many Weld County communities will
celebrate National Night Out (NNO). What is NNO? According to the official web
site, “National Night Out is an annual
community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships
and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better
places to live.” Everyone wants to live in a safe community, and in
Weld County we are lucky to not only have safe communities but also dedicated
law enforcement officers who are great at their job. Let’s celebrate them both by participating in NNO

Two Weld County towns celebrate their incorporation dates (or, as we like to call them - birthdays) this month! Happy birthday to Berthoud, which incorporated on August 28, 1888, and to Pierce, which incorporated on August 30, 1918!
