TEEN LITTLE FREE LIBRARY RE-PAINTING PROJECT
Vail Public Library is looking for five groups of teen volunteers interested in repainting and cleaning up our Little Free Libraries throughout Vail and the valley this summer as part of our Summer Reading programming.
The Little Free Libraries were first painted and put up by teen volunteers in 2017, and we feel they are ready for a makeover. Five groups will become a part of these library's ongoing story as beloved community spaces in Vail.
Summer Reading 2021’s theme is Tails and Tales, and we are looking for groups to repaint the Little Free Libraries following this theme. Bonus points if you can make it fit with “Tales of Vail” or “Tails of Vail.”
Five groups will get to paint the libraries and unveil them over the summer.
How to get involved: Proposals should include the names and contact information (both email and phone number are preferred) for each member of the group, why you want to take on this project, a brief description of the idea, and an accompanying sketch/mockup of the final design.
Please send proposals and questions to either Sabrina at SUnrein@vailgov.com or Cricket at CPylman@vailgov.com The submission deadline is June 15th

WHAT ARE LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES?
The basic idea is to take a book, leave a book. Folks don’t need to feel obligated to make the one-to-one exchange each time but in order to keep books that are current, favorites and in good shape, we do encourage people to give some thought and love to the exchange.
