Sheriff's Office Offers Catalytic Converter Marking Kits
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) to combat catalytic converter theft and will distribute free CatETCH labels to community members. The CatETCH labels each have a unique identifying number that can be applied to a catalytic converter by the vehicle owner or a mechanic. Catalytic converter labeling will allow identification of your catalytic converter in the event it is stolen and later recovered by law enforcement. The unique identification code is entered into a federal database.
Community members are required to complete this registration form prior to picking up their kit. During the registration process, we will be collecting the community member's email address, zip code, vehicle year, vehicle make and model, license plate number, vehicle identification number, and resident’s city. Up to three vehicles can be registered at a time.

Community Noise Roundtable Hires Consultant to Identify Potential Noise Mitigation Measures
Aircraft noise from the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (RMMA) remains a concern for residents. The Town’s trustees continue working with the airport to find solutions. The RMMA Community Noise Roundtable (CNR) was established as a non-adversarial collaboration for this purpose. Residents can learn more about the roundtable at the CNR website and the voluntary noise abatement procedures of the Fly Quiet Program established by the airport.
The Community Noise Roundtable is hiring an aviation consultant to take noise reduction recommendations from existing noise studies and develop recommendations for consideration by the roundtable and the Federal Aviation Administration, identify additional potential noise mitigation measures, and act as a sounding board for further ideas the roundtable may have.
The CNR has also been approached by residents to consider the impact of leaded aviation gas on health and the environment. Although the CNR’s charter states that their focus is the issue of noise, the roundtable is entertaining discussions regarding adding lead concerns to their purview.
To share your voice with the roundtable, email them at rmmacnr@jeffco.us. Contact the Town of Superior’s airport liaison, Trustee Jason Serbu at jasons@superiorcolorado.gov

Get Your Yard and Garden Ready for Spring
The snow is beginning to melt and sunny days make us think about breaking out the gardening gloves. One amazing local resource the Town provides is free high-quality compost available at the Superior Yard Waste Site. Compost helps your garden retain moisture and supports healthy plants. Any Superior resident can stop by the Yard Waste Recycling Facility during their open hours to receive compost for their yard. There is a limited amount of compost available on a first-come first-served basis – please be prepared to show identification with a Superior address.
Looking to make some changes in your yard? The Town of Superior and Resource Central have teamed up to offer a new flexible Lawn Replacement Program to help you save money and water. Get free plants when you remove lawn or hire Resource Central’s expert team to do the work for you. Superior residents are eligible for up to $500 in incentives! Anyone can also attend a free seminar on low-water landscaping for inspiration, tips and tricks.
Thinking about turning on your sprinklers? Remember to dial back the water flow on your system when you turn it back on if it is still at summer levels. If you need help optimizing your system, the Town sponsors Slow the Flow for residents to get free sprinkler evaluations.
