Even though we are getting close to the end of the snake season, Colorado's rattlesnakes are still out in open space areas, trails and on sidewalks. The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department has been receiving notices of sightings around Town near homes, as well. Please be on the look out for snakes and exercise caution as you hike, bike and play in and around the Town of Superior. Don't forget to remind your children and your out-of-town guests to keep watch! If you encounter a rattlesnake, slowly back away and find an alternate route.
To learn more about Colorado snakes, please visit the Snakes in Superior webpage. The page includes an informative presentation by wildlife ecologist, Ashley Delaup.
