As previously posted, the wastewater/sewer rate increase for commercial and residential accounts in Gypsum is effective today, March 1, 2023. This means that the new monthly service charges go into effect today and will be assessed on services provided March 1, 2023, and thereafter, and then billed in arrears starting April 1, 2023.
The rate increases have been calculated to fund the required expansion and upgrade to Gypsum's wastewater treatment plant based on the project's latest financial model. These increases will also generate the funds necessary to repay the Sewer Enterprise Fund for the expenses paid out to homeowners recovering from the July 10, 2022, sewer backup.
