Comcast Fiber Optic Project Work in Gypsum
For the week of 7-11-22

  • Three new areas are now serviceable in Gypsum:  This week, three areas of the map are moving from BLUE to GREEN. The streets and surrounding areas below are now ready for Comcast service.
    - Valley Rd. between Hwy 6 and the Gypsum Public Library
    - The area east of Valley Rd which includes Eagle Valley High School and Gypsum Elementary
    - Jules Dr. as it runs west to east from Schoolside St (see the map for the specific area)

  • Aerial construction work has begun in the eastern half of Eagle River Estates and near the Hwy 6 roundabout: Underground construction was previously completed in this area, but crews are now connecting those lines to key aerial network links. The following streets and surrounding areas will see aerial and some underground construction in the next couple of weeks:
    - Riverview Rd.
    - Ute Ln.
    - Higgins Hollow
    - Porphyry Rd.
    - Meadow Ct.
    - Park View Ln.
    - Price Ln.
    - Hwy 6 from the roundabout to the railroad underpass
    - Trail Gulch Rd.
    - Scotch Creek Rd.

  • GREEN area reminder: When an area on the map changes to GREEN, this indicates that the backbone network is available in the area, it has been tested, and is ready for residential and business connections. However, if a hard surface crossing is required (i.e., a driveway, a parking lot, etc.) or the business or residence is a long distance from the network infrastructure, additional steps may be required to complete the connection and install services. Given the seasonal weather impacts and frozen ground conditions, hard surface crossings will most likely need to wait until the Spring to avoid property and utility damage. Crews will resume this work in the Spring as soon as the weather permits.
