CityCenter Redevelopment

At the City Council Regular Meeting on Monday, October 6, city council passed CB 52 on second reading. CB 52 authorizes the execution of a phased ground lease termination on the former Weingarten property in Englewood CityCenter and the phased transfer of title to New Englewood, LLC.

City Resources

• Business Initiation Grant – Up to $5k grant to support new businesses in Englewood.
• Business Acceleration Grant – Up to $10k grant to support businesses growing in Englewood.
• Primary Employer – Incentive for larger primary employers who will create net new primary jobs
  in Englewood.
• Training Scholarship – Up to $500 grant to support business owners seeking training to grow
  their capacity and potential for success.

• South Metro Enterprise Zone – In designated enterprise zones, businesses are eligible for state income tax credits and sales and use tax exemptions for specific business investments.
• Opportunity Zone – In designated opportunity zones, provides tax benefits for investing in real estate projects and operating businesses. Investors receive tax incentives in the form of deferral and elimination of state and federal capital gains taxes.
