Meet the Team
The COMPAS Implementation Project is privileged to have dedicated resources from OIT as part of the PIT crew. These members bring a wealth of technical expertise from both the state and private sectors, playing a critical role in the project's success. We commend their ongoing efforts and are pleased to recognize their contributions.
Brandon Warren Brandon has supported several agencies over the years, most recently contributing to CDPHE initiatives. He is currently analyzing the inventory of existing CPPS interfaces and integrations, including their content and usage.
Noah Fidanque We first met Noah when he was working with a vendor partner. Though relatively new to the state, he brings extensive experience in supporting large firms with technical expertise. Noah has quickly mastered decompacting current payroll data, staging it, and breaking it into requested chunks for the Product Team.
Srinivasa "Srini" Cheemakurthi Srini has supported various state agencies before joining the PIT crew, including notable work with DOC. He excels in numerous tech tools, including Informatica, which we're using to profile current CPPS data. Srini is currently profiling data to assess quality by creating DQ rules and tracking the data state through dashboards he has developed.
Sarah Sena Sarah is the newest member of the PIT crew and, with her scrum and agile expertise, is developing boards and workstreams in Azure DevOps. Her skills in visualization and process documentation are helping to map current and future processes end-to-end.
We are grateful to Brandon, Noah, Srini, and Sarah for their dedication and contributions to the COMPAS Implementation Project.

Website Updates
As payroll modernization enters a new phase – implementation – we have presented a new, updated website. With this launch, the old website will be retired. Have no fear, the new website will host the content that was on the old site, with additional supplemental information and lots of new things too.
Since procurement was completed, it has taken a backseat to the Agency Engagement and Data as a Product workstreams. The ITN documents and other procurement processes and information are still available, just not as prominent as it was until the executable contract was delivered.
The Agency Engagement section details many of the ways our SMEs, agency partners and other stakeholders have participated in the project so far and will identify future opportunities for engagement and participation. This section will also be a repository for past project newsletters and Office Hours slide decks and recordings.
With much work to recognize – and still much to do – the Data as a Product space is still being built out. Similarly, the Organizational Change section is currently being developed. The FAQ section will include frequently, but also not frequently asked questions that are important to one or many stakeholders. It is regularly updated for review. As the implementation progresses, additional sections will be added. We foresee a space for dashboards and project progress as an ‘on deck’ development.
With all parts of this project, we ask for and welcome feedback, thoughts and ideas. Please use soc_COMPAS@state.co.us to contact members of the PIT crew. We look forward to hearing from you.

Project Kickoff and Trail Guides
The Payroll Implementation Team (PIT) and the payroll system vendor, CGI, officially kicked off the project on April 23, 2024. The presentation recording and slide deck are available to review. The implementation will be accomplished in three phases of work:
Align - (includes planning and strategies)
Deliver - (includes program increments, sprints and agile ceremonies)
Achieve - (includes parallel testing, UAT, go-live and OIT gating)
The state will also receive post-implementation support from CGI following system go-live.
In addition to the PIT crew and the vendor teams – CGI, AdHoc and The Idea Garden - there is an awesome team of folks who have offered their time, knowledge and experience, insight, and talent to this effort. We are thankful and appreciative to the COMPAS Trail Guides for their willingness to support the successful implementation of the new, modern payroll system for the State of Colorado.
This team will supply the PIT crew with the business needs (the 'what' and the 'why') the new system needs to provide. The PIT crew will then work with CGI to configure the system and deliver the 'how' back to the Trail Guides for validation and feedback. This implementation will be following the practices set forth in agile methodology which outlines iterative development and relies on constant and consistent validation and feedback.
