Updated Guidance for Salons, Spas and Sole Practitioners of Personal Services Under 6th Amended Public Health Order 20-28

Dear Licensee:

Effective April 27, 2020, Governor Jared Polis issued Executive Order D 2020 044 directing Colorado to enter the new Safer at Home phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Order, based on ongoing trends towards “flattening the curve” of virus spread, shifted June 1, 2020 into the Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors portion of the state’s Coronavirus response. Executive Order D 2020 091 enacts a number of measures both indoors and outdoors, including allowing Coloradans to return and/or continue work while maintaining a sustainable level of social distancing.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), based on the Governor’s directives, issued and updated the now-titled Sixth Amended Public Health Order 20-28 Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors, which provides details of certain restrictions and safety guidance by broad industry type. CDPHE is making the information contained in the Public Health Order available via the Safer at Home webpage where you can access information by industry.

The changes set forth in the public health order, along with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and others, are reflected in revised Guidance for Salons, Spas and Sole Practitioners of Personal Services.

We continue to endeavor to provide the information you require as you work to safely resume certain business practices in the midst of COVID-19’s presence in Colorado. We appreciate your patience as we work to account for many diverse scenarios during an unprecedented time.

Thank you.
