Join the Division Grants Committee! We are looking for dedicated community members to help shape the future of accessibility in Colorado by serving on our Grants Committee. As a committee member, you will play a vital role in reviewing applications and recommending how $50,000 in grant funding is distributed to support impactful projects for the DHHDB communities. This is a unique opportunity to evaluate proposals, from community-based planning to innovative start-up services.  House Bill 26-1109 Signed: On June 2, Governor Jared Polis signed House Bill 26-1109, allowing the Communication Services for People with Disabilities Enterprise Board (SENSE Colorado) to hire an independent researcher by July 1, 2027, to study the use of sign language interpreters in our state. This research would take place during the 2027-2028 state fiscal year (July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028). We will continue to keep you informed as this process develops over the next year.

Lots of work is happening right now, and we want to ensure you are kept informed about important disability work across Colorado!
 Colorado Disability Opportunity Office (CDOO) Needs Assessment: The CDOO is currently studying the assets and needs of the Colorado disability community. This groundbreaking work will produce the country’s first statewide needs assessment encompassing all disability types, and your participation is vital! By signing up for updates online, you will receive a fully accessible monthly electronic newsletter summarizing the project's activity and get direct notifications about future opportunities to participate.
 Disability Law Colorado (DLC) 2027 Priorities Survey: DLC wants to hear from you! They are seeking community input to help determine their focus areas for 2027. While 2027 may seem a ways off, DLC must finalize their upcoming priorities by September 30, 2026, and they want to gather as much feedback as possible. Your input will be carefully reviewed by their Board, Mental Health Advisory Council, and staff to understand where they can have the greatest impact with their resources.
